Key Responsibilities
As an Accountant, you will be responsible for:
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of all financial transactions to support sound decision-making.
- Ensuring compliance with IFRS by applying appropriate accounting standards and principles in financial reporting.
- Reconciling general ledger balances and ensuring the accuracy of the trial balance at the end of each month.
- Performing month-end and year-end closure procedures, including updating Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet, and Trial Balance audit workbooks.
- Supporting both internal and external audits by providing requested financial information and preparing financial statements.
- Processing employee expense claims by ensuring costs are properly supported by receipts, calculated accurately, and adjusted for any travel advances.
- Reconciliation of bank accounts and petty cash, ensuring all receipts and payments are correctly recorded in the ERP system (Netsuite).
- Filing and timely submission of statutory returns for WIOCC Group entities and adhering to government regulations in various jurisdictions.
- Assisting in the implementation and compliance of the company’s Standard Operating Procedures, work instructions, and accounting policies.
- Handling other responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications & Skills
To excel in this role, you must meet the following qualifications:
Educational Background:
- Undergraduate degree in Economics, Finance, or Accounting.
- Professional accounting qualifications such as CPA or ACCA.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in accounting functions.
- Demonstrated proficiency in computerized accounting systems.
Core Skills:
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.
- Advanced ICT skills, particularly in accounting software.
- Strong understanding of current accounting guidelines and principles.
- Exceptional organizational, analytical, and interpersonal abilities.
- Proven capability to manage deadlines effectively.
