The Storekeeper plays a central role in ensuring that every kitchen, outlet, and warehouse functions smoothly—with the right products in the right place, at the right time.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Storekeeper, your duties will support the warehousing, inventory management, and stock movement across Java House’s supply chain. You will be expected to adhere to standard operating procedures while helping the company meet operational and financial goals.

Your responsibilities will include:

1. Inventory Management

  • Maintain inventory across assigned stores and record accurate stock levels in real time

  • Ensure visibility of stock availability to warehouse and retail teams through updated records and clear reporting

  • Monitor bin cards, storage sheets, and warehouse logs to track incoming and outgoing items

  • Conduct daily cycle counts, weekly reconciliations, and monthly inventory audits

  • Maintain FIFO (First-In-First-Out) practices and support efforts to minimize stock obsolescence

  • Identify and address discrepancies between physical and system inventory

2. Goods Receipt and Dispatch

  • Receive incoming deliveries, inspecting goods for quantity, quality, and conformity to order specifications

  • Cross-check deliveries with supplier documentation, reporting damages, discrepancies, or missing items

  • Coordinate product returns with procurement and suppliers when non-conformities are detected

  • Issue goods to various departments, outlets, or warehouses based on approved requisitions

  • Update inventory systems following every goods movement (receipts or dispatch)

  • Ensure that labeling systems are adhered to for all stocked items

3. Documentation and Reporting

  • Prepare and update daily store reports, movement summaries, stock cards, and GRNs (Goods Received Notes)

  • File and manage all stock movement paperwork for audit readiness and regulatory compliance

  • Support warehouse and finance teams with timely submission of inventory-related data

  • Record usage, transfer, wastage, and stock adjustment details clearly and accurately

  • Assist with the implementation of ERP and WMS systems if applicable to your role

4. Organization and Cleanliness

  • Maintain a clean, well-organized, and safety-compliant warehouse environment

  • Ensure proper segregation of goods based on food safety guidelines and storage instructions

  • Support re-stocking processes and storage optimization within designated warehouse areas

  • Follow appropriate procedures for the storage of fragile, perishable, or high-value items

5. Stock Movement and Transfers

  • Coordinate stock movements between Java House’s National Distribution Center and individual branches

  • Monitor transfer requests and verify the condition of goods in transit

  • Update bin locations and ensure correct placement of inventory in assigned zones

  • Communicate proactively with branch managers to manage shortfalls or overstock

6. Quality Assurance and Loss Control

  • Ensure all stored goods meet Java House’s internal quality control standards

  • Assist with compliance checks during health and safety inspections

  • Participate in stock reconciliation processes to minimize shrinkage, pilferage, and wastage

  • Maintain logs of expired, damaged, or returned items and submit them for resolution

  • Raise alerts on suspicious stock discrepancies or procedural violations

7. Cross-functional Support

  • Work with the procurement, production, and finance teams to align on stock plans

  • Liaise with restaurant managers and chefs to fulfill supply needs in line with menus and promotions

  • Support in the planning and execution of physical stock counts across multiple warehouses and branches

  • Provide guidance to junior warehouse staff, casuals, or temps where necessary

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Java House is looking for a dependable and proactive storekeeping professional who meets the following requirements:

Minimum Academic Qualifications:

  • A Diploma in Purchasing and Supplies Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field is highly desirable

  • Additional training in inventory control, warehouse operations, or ERP systems is an advantage

Experience:

  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience in a storekeeping or warehouse assistant role

  • Proven experience working within a hospitality, food, retail, FMCG, or manufacturing environment is preferred

  • Prior involvement with ERP, WMS, or stock reconciliation systems is an added advantage

Technical Competencies:

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and inventory management software

  • Excellent record-keeping skills with an ability to analyze and interpret stock reports

  • Understanding of food safety, FIFO, HACCP, or similar inventory-related compliance practices

  • Capable of lifting, stacking, and handling inventory with due care and accuracy

CONTRACT DETAILS
