Key Responsibilities

As the Production Supervisor – Flowers, you will be responsible for ensuring optimal production processes and maintaining high standards in flower cultivation. Your main duties will include:

• Supervising Labor: Efficiently manage field teams to ensure tasks are completed on schedule.
• Quality Assurance: Monitor flower quality to meet or exceed company and customer standards.
• Daily Planning: Execute daily production plans, including harvesting predictions and picking schedules.
• Best Practices Implementation: Ensure adherence to Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) and proper picking procedures.
• Logistics Coordination: Oversee the transportation of harvested flowers to the packhouse.
• Resource Allocation: Provide workers with the necessary tools, equipment, and materials.
• Compliance: Enforce health, safety, and cleanliness standards, ensuring “audit-ready” work environments year-round.
• Labor Projections: Forecast labor requirements and optimize field utilization.
• Crop Health Management: Monitor and report on crop health, ensuring efficient pest and disease management.

Qualifications and Skills

To succeed in this role, candidates must demonstrate a strong combination of technical expertise and leadership abilities:

Minimum Requirements:

• Degree or Diploma in Agriculture or Horticulture.
• A valid KCSE Certificate.
• Two+ years of experience in a flower production setup.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Current training and certification in the safe and effective use of pesticides.
• IPM Level 1 or 2 certification.
• Extensive knowledge of crop husbandry (bed-making, planting, harvesting).

Essential Skills:

• Strong leadership and supervisory capabilities.
• Excellent communication, numerical, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in problem-solving and prioritization.
• Time-conscious, detail-oriented, and able to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Flexibility and decision-making ability under pressure.
