Key Responsibilities

As the Spray Supervisor, you will oversee all spray operations to ensure optimal crop health and regulatory compliance. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Equipment Management
    • Ensure spray equipment is used correctly and maintained to a high standard.
    • Promptly report any equipment defects and oversee weekly maintenance by workshop personnel.
  • Team Supervision
    • Guarantee that all team members wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
    • Train and certify spray operators in the safe and effective use of pesticides.
    • Reallocate duties to spray operators during non-spray activities.
  • Regulatory Compliance
    • Monitor and update records for PPE, flushing sheets, calibration logs, and daily logs.
    • Maintain adherence to Flamingo Horticulture-approved pesticide lists and local regulatory standards.
  • Operational Planning
    • Collaborate with crop scouts to plan weekly spray programs.
    • Liaise with the production team to improve training standards and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Record Management
    • Ensure accurate filling of Spray Application Details and compliance with safety protocols.
    • Regularly update active sprayer lists and ensure areas are audit-ready.
  • Performance Monitoring
    • Track the effectiveness of spray operations and propose improvements where necessary.

Qualifications and Skills

To succeed in this role, you must meet the following qualifications:

  • Educational Background
    • Degree/Diploma in Agriculture or Horticulture.
  • Experience
    • Minimum of three years in a flower setup, with demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Skills
    • Strong decision-making abilities, excellent numerical and problem-solving skills, and effective communication.
    • Proficiency in task prioritization and attention to detail.
    • Certification in the safe and effective use of pesticides (IPM Level 1 or 2 is a plus).
  • Personal Attributes
