Key Responsibilities
As the Scout Supervisor, your main duties will include:
Crop Monitoring and Supervision
- Oversee daily crop inspections to identify pests, diseases, nutrient deficiencies, and signs of stress.
- Train scouts on effective monitoring techniques and identification of potential issues.
- Develop and implement a robust crop monitoring program, including scouting schedules and key focus areas.
Data Analysis and Reporting
- Analyze scouting data to identify trends and patterns in crop health.
- Prepare detailed reports on crop conditions, pest and disease outbreaks, and implemented control measures.
- Maintain accurate, organized records for analysis and reporting purposes.
Coordination and Safety Management
- Coordinate with the spray team to ensure timely and accurate pesticide applications.
- Conduct regular team meetings to discuss crop conditions, challenges, and improvements.
- Promote safety by conducting training and encouraging a culture of safety across the team.
Efficiency and Quality Control
- Monitor the efficacy of pest and disease control measures and recommend adjustments as necessary.
- Follow up on beneficial insect applications and their effectiveness.
- Ensure cleanliness and readiness of the work area for audits and inspections at all times.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
Education and Certification
- Degree or Diploma in Agriculture or Horticulture.
- Current training and certification in the safe and effective use of pesticides.
- IPM Level 1 or 2 certification is an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum of three years in a flower production setup.
- Proven experience in leading and supervising a team.
Skills
- Strong leadership and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Time-conscious, detail-oriented, and a team player with personal initiative.
