Key Responsibilities of the Legal Intern

• Conduct comprehensive research on human rights violations and international justice cases
• Monitor legal proceedings at the International Criminal Court (ICC) and other judicial bodies
• Support advocacy initiatives focused on international legal frameworks and justice reform
• Assist in organizing and executing capacity-building programs for legal professionals
• Engage in administrative tasks to support AFLA’s legal and advocacy teams
• Contribute to AFLA’s legal publications, including reports, articles, and case studies
• Assist in managing social media channels to enhance AFLA’s digital outreach
• Support the publication of podcast episodes covering major international justice topics

Qualifications and Skills Required

• Advanced degree in Law, International Relations, or a related field
• Fluency in English (written and spoken) is mandatory
• Proficiency in French is an added advantage
• Excellent research and writing skills with strong analytical abilities
• Highly organized, able to handle multiple tasks, and meet deadlines
• Independent worker with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team
• Passionate about international justice, human rights, and legal advocacy
• A sense of humor and resilience in a high-paced environment
