This 6-month renewable internship offers valuable experience supporting organizational engagement, research analysis, administrative coordination, and communications content for one of the most data-driven and evidence-based global health nonprofits.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

A. Data Analysis & Content Creation (50%)

  • Work closely with the Regional Communications Lead to gather, document, and publish compelling case studies and success stories for newsletters and reports.
  • Help create visually and editorially engaging content for organizational communication across East Africa.
  • Maintain a centralized repository of regional highlights, impact stories, and programmatic updates.

B. Research & Strategy Support (30%)

  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative research on regional initiatives, policy, or program effectiveness.
  • Assist in data synthesis and drafting briefs and reports to support strategy development.
  • Generate evidence-based recommendations for internal decision-making.

C. Administrative & Logistical Support (20%)

  • Assist in planning and logistics of regional workshops, meetings, and outreach events.
  • Maintain clear records and filing systems for regional coordination documents.
  • Support executive-level tasks as assigned by the Chief of Staff.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (completed within the last 3 years) in Communications, International Development, Public Policy, Social Sciences, or related field
  • Demonstrated interest in non-profit work, research, or social impact communications

Preferred Experience

  • Prior internship or work experience in research, policy, communications, or admin support
  • Strong writing and content creation portfolio (newsletters, blogs, briefs, etc.)

Key Competencies

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to conduct desk research, compile data, and write briefs
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and multitasking ability
  • Proactive, adaptable, and eager to learn and grow

Eligibility

  • Must be legally authorized to work in Kenya
  • Evidence Action is not able to sponsor Kenyan work visas at this time

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Location: Nairobi, Kenya Office (on-site role)
  • May require off-hour availability for international calls or event support
