KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Research Officer

  • Conduct comprehensive market and economic research to inform business policy and decision-making.
  • Analyze business trends, trade policies, and economic indicators to provide actionable insights.
  • Prepare detailed research reports, white papers, and policy briefs for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with government agencies, development partners, and private sector players on research initiatives.
  • Design and implement data collection methodologies to support evidence-based policy recommendations.
  • Present research findings in workshops, conferences, and stakeholder forums.
  • Develop and manage a database of key economic, business, and trade indicators for reference.
  • Support advocacy efforts through quantitative and qualitative research on regulatory and economic matters.

Policy, Research & Advocacy Manager

  • Lead the policy research and advocacy strategy to influence business-friendly legislative frameworks.
  • Engage policymakers, regulatory agencies, and international trade organizations on policy matters.
  • Coordinate the development and review of policy documents, position papers, and strategic reports.
  • Monitor and assess government policies, trade agreements, and economic trends affecting businesses.
  • Oversee the implementation of KNCCI’s advocacy programs and stakeholder engagement initiatives.
  • Provide expert guidance on policy formulation, regulatory compliance, and trade facilitation.
  • Organize roundtable discussions, stakeholder forums, and policy dialogues to address business challenges.
  • Supervise a team of researchers and policy analysts in conducting high-impact studies.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Research Officer

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business Administration, Statistics, Public Policy, or related field.
  • Experience in research, economic analysis, or policy development.
  • Strong data analysis and statistical modeling skills using tools like SPSS, Stata, or R.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for presenting research findings.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with Kenya’s trade and economic policies is an added advantage.

Policy, Research & Advocacy Manager

  • Master’s degree in Public Policy, Economics, Business Administration, International Relations, or related field.
  • Experience in policy research, economic development, or advocacy.
  • In-depth understanding of Kenya’s regulatory framework and economic landscape.
  • Proven ability to engage with government, international bodies, and the private sector.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret economic data, trade agreements, and policy documents.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with experience in managing teams and large-scale projects.
