KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide outstanding customer service by greeting and assisting guests professionally.
- Take and serve orders accurately while ensuring customers receive their food and beverages on time.
- Handle cash transactions, issue receipts, and operate point-of-sale (POS) systems efficiently.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of tables, dining areas, and workstations.
- Assist in setting up and closing down dining areas before and after shifts.
- Manage multiple tables and ensure all guests receive timely service.
- Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure orders are prepared and delivered promptly.
- Ensure all food handling procedures follow safety and hygiene regulations.
- Respond to customer inquiries, complaints, and special requests in a professional manner.
- Assist in restocking supplies such as napkins, condiments, and beverages as needed.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of food items to maintain quality and prevent contamination.
- Monitor food presentation, portion sizes, and plating consistency in alignment with the café’s standards.
- Recommend menu items, daily specials, and promotions to enhance the customer experience.
- Uphold the bakery & café’s reputation by fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment.
- Engage with customers to gather feedback and relay any concerns or suggestions to management.
- Adhere to all safety and security procedures, including handling emergency situations effectively.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Customer Service Skills: Friendly, polite, and attentive to customer needs.
- Communication Skills: Ability to interact professionally with customers and colleagues.
- Basic Math Skills: Competence in handling cash transactions and making accurate change.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to ensure order accuracy and proper food presentation.
- Multitasking Ability: Capable of handling multiple tables and orders simultaneously.
- Teamwork: Ability to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and fellow team members.
- Punctuality and Reliability: Must be dependable and consistently on time for shifts.
- Food Safety Knowledge: Basic understanding of hygiene and food handling best practices.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to manage complaints and resolve issues quickly.
- Previous Experience: Preferred but not required—experience in the food and beverage industry or a similar role is an added advantage.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long hours and move swiftly in a busy environment.
- Ability to Handle Pressure: Work effectively in a fast-paced setting without compromising service quality.
