1. Counsellor (Re-advertisement)

Number of Posts: 1
Role Summary:
The Counsellor will support the mental, emotional, and psychosocial well-being of students and staff through individual counseling, group sessions, and institution-wide wellness programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Offer individual and group counseling sessions for students with academic, social, or psychological concerns
- Facilitate workshops on stress management, self-esteem, conflict resolution, and life skills
- Identify at-risk students and provide timely intervention or referral
- Maintain confidential counseling records and generate periodic wellness reports
Ideal Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Counseling Psychology, Psychology, or Guidance & Counseling
- At least 3 years’ experience in student counseling or related field
- Registered with a recognized counseling body
- Good communication, empathy, and record-keeping skills
2. Clinical Officer

Number of Posts: 1
Role Summary:
The Clinical Officer will provide medical services at the Polytechnic’s health unit and ensure the general wellness of students and staff through consultation, treatment, and health education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Examine and treat outpatient cases among students and staff
- Maintain accurate medical records, prescriptions, and referral notes
- Conduct basic lab tests and interpret diagnostic results
- Participate in institutional health awareness campaigns and outbreak response
Ideal Qualifications:
- Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery from a recognized institution
- Valid registration by Clinical Officers Council of Kenya
- At least 3 years’ clinical experience in a school or hospital setting
- Emergency care and counseling skills are an added advantage
3. Secretary

Role Summary:
The Secretary will be responsible for efficient clerical support, documentation management, scheduling, and general administrative duties for academic or administrative units.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage office correspondence, records, appointments, and filing systems
- Type and process internal and external communication
- Receive visitors, manage diaries, and organize meetings
- Maintain high standards of professionalism and confidentiality
Ideal Qualifications:
- Diploma in Secretarial Studies, Business Administration, or Office Management
- Shorthand speed of 100 wpm and typing speed of 50 wpm
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Minimum 2 years of secretarial experience in an educational institution
4. Mechanical Technician

Role Summary:
The Mechanical Technician will support practical instruction in mechanical engineering workshops by preparing materials, maintaining equipment, and assisting students during hands-on sessions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare tools, materials, and machinery for practical mechanical classes
- Conduct routine maintenance and safety inspections of workshop equipment
- Assist lecturers during practical assessments and project work
- Maintain inventory records and report equipment faults
Ideal Qualifications:
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (Production or Plant Option)
- At least 2 years of hands-on technical experience in a workshop or training institution
- Knowledge of safety protocols and machine operation
- Proficiency in reading mechanical blueprints and workshop documentation
5. Plumbing Technician

Role Summary:
The Plumbing Technician will support the plumbing department by maintaining facilities, assisting with instructional demonstrations, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide practical support during plumbing lessons and assessments
- Install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems within the institution
- Monitor stock levels of plumbing supplies and equipment
- Assist in preparing instructional materials and demonstrations
Ideal Qualifications:
- Diploma in Plumbing Technology or Building Services
- 2+ years of hands-on plumbing experience in an institutional or industrial setting
- Knowledge of water systems, drainage, and sanitation codes
- Safety certification and basic welding/plumbing skills are desirable
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL POSITIONS
- Valid academic and professional certificates from accredited institutions
- Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
- Good ethical conduct and understanding of student-centered service delivery
- Must be willing to work in a fast-paced educational environment
