KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct and review internal actuarial liability valuations and profitability analysis for life insurance products.
  • Perform experience investigations, including profitability analysis and data-driven actuarial research.
  • Review external actuary reports and collaborate with appointed actuaries to generate financial condition reports.
  • Perform solvency and capital management analysis, including risk-based capital calculations and solvency stress testing.
  • Assist in financial modeling to support business decision-making and scenario testing.
  • Provide support in strategic business planning, including solvency projections and stress analysis.
  • Conduct reinsurance analysis to optimize risk transfer strategies for life insurance portfolios.
  • Present actuarial insights and valuation reports to senior management, board committees, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Assist in enterprise risk management by identifying, quantifying, and mitigating financial and insurance risks.
  • Support investment strategy formulation and monitor investment performance in alignment with actuarial insights.
  • Develop predictive models for claims forecasting and portfolio risk assessment.
  • Collaborate with underwriting teams to refine pricing models and improve profitability.
  • Conduct market research to identify emerging trends in the insurance and financial services sector.
  • Lead workshops and training sessions to enhance actuarial knowledge within the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements and maintain actuarial documentation.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Finance, Mathematics, or related fields.
  • Actuarial Certification: A minimum of 7 actuarial exam passes from a recognized actuarial professional body.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of actuarial experience in the life insurance industry.
  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency in actuarial modeling, financial forecasting, and solvency computation.
  • Knowledge of Regulations: Strong understanding of IFRS17, insurance regulations, capital markets, and central banking regulations.
  • Analytical Skills: Advanced data analysis and problem-solving capabilities to support actuarial assessments.
  • Programming Skills: Proficiency in data programming and actuarial software is highly preferred.
  • Communication and Presentation: Ability to present complex actuarial insights clearly to diverse stakeholders.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to work independently while ensuring accuracy in actuarial computations.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet strict deadlines.
  • Experience with risk assessment tools and actuarial software such as Prophet, R, Python, or VBA.
