Job Overview
Are you passionate about grants management, fundraising, and community development? This is an excellent opportunity to work with a leading non-profit organization dedicated to transforming lives in urban slums. As a Grants Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing administrative, logistical, and reporting support to the Grants Department while ensuring compliance with donor requirements.
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Nairobi, where you will have the chance to develop expertise in grants writing, financial reporting, and donor management, while also supporting community-based programs.

Key Responsibilities
Grant Management and Reporting
- Assist in tracking and ensuring timely submission of grant reports.
- Support the preparation of comprehensive grant reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with donor requirements.
- Monitor compliance with grant agreements, budgets, and timelines in collaboration with the Finance team.
- Maintain an organized database of all grant-related documents and correspondence.
Capacity Building and Support
- Assist in organizing training workshops for Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) on grant writing and fundraising strategies.
- Review monthly expenditure reports from CBOs to ensure alignment with grant allocations.
- Support the development and implementation of best practices in grant management and compliance.
Administrative Support
- Provide general administrative support to the Grants Management team.
- Manage calendars, schedule meetings, and prepare meeting agendas.
- Take meeting minutes and ensure follow-ups on action points.
Qualifications and Skills
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Development Studies, or a related field.
- CPA II or certification in Project Management (an added advantage).
Experience & Competencies
- At least 1 year of experience in a related field (Grants, Finance, or Project Management).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work with confidential information.
- Strong commitment to learning, teamwork, and personal growth.
