Key Responsibilities
As a Fundraising Assistant Intern, you will:
- Conduct in-depth research to identify new funding opportunities from foundations, governmental agencies, and private donors.
- Monitor grant announcements and keep track of funding deadlines to ensure timely application submissions.
- Manage and update the fundraising database, ensuring all contacts, donor details, and grant timelines are well-documented.
- Assist in drafting compelling letters of inquiry, concept notes, and project proposals to secure funding.
- Proofread reports and funding proposals to enhance their quality, clarity, and coherence.
- Contribute to visualizing reports by improving their layout and presentation.
- Attend internal meetings and external information sessions related to fundraising and donor engagement.
- Take meeting minutes and document action items for future reference.
- Support the monitoring and evaluation of fundraising activities to assess their effectiveness.
Qualifications and Skills
- Master’s level student currently enrolled in a university OR a recent master’s graduate (graduated within the last six months).
- Degree in Business Administration, Development Studies, International Relations, Social Sciences, Political Science, or a related field.
- Fluent English skills (strong writing, proofreading, and editing abilities required).
- Intermediate to advanced Arabic proficiency (preferred but not mandatory).
- Demonstrated knowledge of and interest in peacebuilding, human rights, and transformative justice.
- Familiarity with the MENA region (especially Syria) is a plus.
- Experience working with NGOs, nonprofit organizations, or fundraising initiatives is advantageous.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a remote work environment.
Internship Structure
- Location: Remote
- Workload: Part-time (20-24 hours/week) OR Full-time (up to 37.5 hours/week, based on university requirements or intern preference).
- Internship Duration: Minimum 4 months – Maximum 6 months.
- Expected Start Date: First week of March 2025.
- Compensation: This is an unpaid internship. However, we recognize the financial challenges students face and remain flexible in allowing interns to balance their work with external commitments. Students receiving grants or scholarships are encouraged to apply.
