KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct intake assessments for program entrepreneurs and perform monthly site visits to evaluate business needs and opportunities.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with local partners, government authorities, and stakeholders in Garissa and Dadaab.
- Identify and link clients with market opportunities by engaging potential buyers, including hotels, restaurants, schools, and food processing companies.
- Facilitate business relationships between micro and small entrepreneurs and larger buyers.
- Collaborate with the Business Growth Services Team and Investment Team to enhance technical skills and business acumen.
- Assist in identifying clients with strong potential for market linkages and support them in tender applications for local business opportunities.
- Respond to inquiries from potential borrowers, guide them through enrollment, and provide advisory support.
- Conduct due diligence for investment opportunities, including site visits, business and financial document review, and risk assessments.
- Assist in the preparation and execution of investment contracts and oversee investment disbursements.
- Coordinate with Business Development Advisors and Business Associates to ensure efficient program execution.
- Provide ongoing support and training materials to entrepreneurs and liaise with the Location Manager on program needs.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year (gained through internships, industrial attachment, or volunteer work).
- Highly Energetic: Must thrive in a field-based role and enjoy working directly with people.
- Sales-Oriented: Ability to secure contracts and deals for clients.
- Relationship Builder: Strong ability to foster long-term connections with businesses and buyers.
- Opportunistic Mindset: Must be able to spot and capitalize on business opportunities quickly.
- Self-Starter: Should require minimal training and be eager to learn on the go.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in MS Excel and Word.
- Strong Communication Skills: Excellent written and oral communication in English and Swahili.
- Critical Thinking & Problem-Solving: Must exhibit strong analytical and strategic skills.
- Legal Eligibility: Must be legally authorized to work in Kenya.
