Introduction
The Global Citizen Scholarship Program is an exclusive, fully-funded opportunity designed to empower young African leaders dedicated to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This prestigious scholarship provides a platform for emerging changemakers to engage in international academic training, high-level networking, skill-building workshops, and peer-to-peer mentoring.
In 2025, 14 exceptional African youth leaders will be selected, alongside three Management Center Innsbruck (MCI) students, forming a dynamic cohort of 17 scholars. These scholars will embark on a transformational journey, attending the MCI Summer School on “Entrepreneurship for Sustainable Development”, benefiting from exclusive skills training, and contributing to sustainable community development through localized SDG Micro-Projects.

Key Responsibilities of Selected Scholars
- Engage in the full scholarship program from April to December 2025.
- Attend and actively participate in the MCI Summer School and additional skills training.
- Propose and implement a local SDG Micro-Project, addressing key sustainability challenges in your community.
- Collaborate with international peers in knowledge exchange and best practice sharing.
- Demonstrate leadership and commitment in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals.
- Engage in mentoring and coaching activities with past and present scholars.
- Represent the program in global forums and networking events.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the Global Citizen Scholarship Program, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Must be an African youth from any country on the continent.
- Age 20-35 years.
- Strong dedication to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
- Proven leadership experience and active involvement in community-based initiatives.
- Ability to communicate proficiently in English (minimum B2 level – European Standards).
- Minimum of a Master’s degree (Exceptional cases: Completion of at least one year of undergraduate studies will be considered).
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement an impactful SDG Micro-Project.
