This is an onsite position based in Nairobi, with occasional flexibility for remote work.

Key Responsibilities
As the Executive Assistant to the CEO, your role will include but not be limited to:
Administrative Support:
- Provide high-quality and timely administrative support to the CEO.
- Manage the CEO’s calendar, ensuring effective scheduling and prioritization.
- Organize and coordinate travel arrangements, including itineraries and expense documentation.
Stakeholder Communication:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the CEO’s office, ensuring professional and confidential communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proactively handle inquiries from Board members, staff, and stakeholders with professionalism.
Board and Executive Team Coordination:
- Prepare agendas, take minutes, and manage follow-ups for Board meetings and executive sessions.
- Provide administrative support for governance and Board-related activities, including monitoring committee action items and resolutions.
- Organize meeting spaces and logistics for Board members and the Executive Team.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain records and correspondence through SharePoint.
- Produce high-quality reports, summaries, and documentation for the CEO, Board, and senior leadership.
- Assist in planning and execution of major organizational events.
Policy and Governance:
- Implement and maintain governance best practices in collaboration with the CEO and CFO.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting for organizational compliance.
General Responsibilities:
- Represent AKES, Kenya with professionalism and a commitment to its values.
- Maintain an awareness of key organizational policies and contribute positively to team meetings.
- Continuously seek personal and professional growth opportunities relevant to the role.
Qualifications and Skills
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Experience: At least five years in a senior administrative or public relations role, preferably in K-12 education or non-profit sectors.
- Significant experience supporting C-level executives in high-pressure environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with non-profit board operations.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and SharePoint.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks effectively in dynamic situations.
