Are you seeking a career move that puts you at the center of a global financial institution? Citi Kenya is hiring a Client Onboarding Analyst to join our Treasury and Trade Solutions (TTS) Onboarding Team, responsible for seamless client integration and account setup.

The Client Onboarding Team plays a critical role in Citi’s ability to provide a smooth, efficient, and secure banking experience for institutional clients. This position is ideal for individuals who are detail-oriented, customer-focused, and driven by problem-solving.

As a Client Onboarding Analyst, you will work with Relationship Managers, Product Specialists, and Operations Teams to provide clients with a smooth and efficient onboarding experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Client Onboarding Analyst, your primary duties will include:
Client Onboarding and Project Management
- Lead onboarding projects for regional and global cash management solutions.
- Manage client account opening, documentation review, and account maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements and regulations.
- Oversee technical integration activities for corporate clients.
- Maintain accurate records of project progress, reporting key milestones.
- Minimize onboarding cycle time and revenue conversion lead time.
- Ensure thorough documentation of each step in the onboarding process to maintain audit and compliance standards.
- Work closely with legal and compliance teams to verify documentation authenticity.
Client Relationship and Communication
- Act as a trusted advisor for clients throughout the onboarding lifecycle.
- Partner with Relationship Managers, Sales, Product, and Client Services teams.
- Navigate the internal banking structure on behalf of clients.
- Attend client meetings, collaborating with Sales and Relationship Managers.
- Provide guidance on documentation requirements and Citi’s digital portals.
- Develop and maintain client onboarding guides to assist clients in understanding processes.
- Conduct periodic follow-ups with clients to ensure all needs are met post-onboarding.
Risk Management and Compliance
- Apply structured project management methodologies throughout onboarding.
- Ensure strict adherence to Citi’s compliance policies and regulatory requirements.
- Escalate delays or challenges that may impact project completion.
- Evaluate risk factors to safeguard Citi, its clients, and its assets.
- Ensure compliance with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Financial Crime policies.
- Keep up to date with global and regional financial regulations, advising internal teams on necessary compliance adjustments.
- Provide periodic training sessions on risk assessment best practices.
Process Optimization and Reporting
- Maintain Management Information Systems (MIS) and onboarding metrics.
- Track KPIs, risk assessment reports, and onboarding efficiency.
- Implement best practices to improve client onboarding and integration.
- Work on process automation and workflow improvements.
- Ensure data accuracy and document control in all client onboarding cases.
- Conduct performance reviews and recommend system enhancements.
- Utilize client feedback to refine and optimize the onboarding journey.
- Collaborate with technology teams to explore AI-driven automation for faster onboarding.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
- Relevant experience in Client Onboarding, KYC, Documentation Review, or Project Management.
- Strong background in global banking operations, trade finance, or treasury solutions.
- Experience managing complex integration solutions with technology teams.
- Fluency in English and French (mandatory requirement).
- Prior exposure to corporate banking, fintech, or regulatory compliance.
- Knowledge of international financial reporting standards and industry compliance frameworks.
Technical and Functional Competencies:
- Proficiency in financial systems and client onboarding platforms.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented approach, ensuring compliance in a regulated environment.
- Ability to work under pressure, managing multiple client onboarding projects.
- Experience in handling corporate banking documentation.
- Strong analytical skills, with a keen understanding of financial regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with blockchain technology and digital KYC solutions is an added advantage.
