As a Financial Analyst, you will be responsible for overseeing financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, compliance, and governance for the Central and Coastal Southern Africa cluster. The role requires a deep understanding of financial data analysis, business partnering, and revenue analytics. You will play a crucial role in managing financial processes, ensuring compliance with policies, and contributing to strategic decision-making.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Financial Analyst, your primary responsibilities will include:

Financial Management:

  • Overseeing the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial reporting process for the Central and Coastal Southern Africa clusters.
  • Managing the budgeting and forecasting process for financial planning and strategic decision-making.
  • Implementing strategies to prevent and resolve bad debts, ensuring financial health.
  • Providing basic support in revenue management and investment decisions.
  • Participating in continuous improvement activities to enhance financial efficiency.

Revenue Analytics and Business Partnering:

  • Leading the analysis of key business drivers for strategic planning, annual budgeting, and quarterly forecasting.
  • Conducting financial modeling and review of client deals, ensuring alignment with financial goals.
  • Performing finance reviews of incentive contracts to optimize financial strategies.

Compliance and Governance:

  • Ensuring all deals and approval-to-spend requests are recorded and reported in compliance with financial policies.
  • Ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and consistency in financial reporting.
  • Providing guidance to business partners on budget approvals, forecasts, and financial commitments.

Relationship Management:

  • Partnering with business and regional finance teams to ensure alignment on financial performance.
  • Demonstrating a strong sense of urgency in preparing and evaluating financial models.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with finance business partners across SSA and CEMEA regions.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, or business finance within a multinational organization.
  • Experience in one of the following industries is highly desirable: Payment Technology, Consulting, FMCG, or Telecom.
  • High-energy, proactive, and results-driven professional.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and provide insights to non-financial stakeholders.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with executive management.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong relationship-building skills, with a focus on collaboration.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, with strong analytical thinking.
  • Ability to problem-solve, make data-driven decisions, and drive financial improvements.

Technical Competencies:

  • Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) is preferred.
  • Strong financial planning and analysis (FP&A) skills, including experience in forecasting and financial modeling.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint is required.
  • Experience with Power BI, IBM Cognos TM1, and Hyperion is an advantage.
  • Conceptual knowledge of financial databases and reporting tools.

Business Competencies:

  • Experience in financial and commercial analysis within a large multinational corporation.
  • Outstanding quantitative and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and financial integrity.
