KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Vacancy 1: HR Intern – Nairobi

Job Type: Internship | Duration: 6–9 Months | Work Level: Junior

As a Human Resources Intern, you will support the Airflo HR team with administrative, compliance, and engagement activities across all HR subfunctions.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Generating monthly HR reports and submitting them to the relevant internal authorities.

  • Assisting with the organization of employee events and engagement initiatives.

  • Supporting the implementation and monitoring of HR policies and procedures.

  • Providing administrative support in areas like recruitment, onboarding, disciplinary management, and performance reviews.

  • Auditing personnel files and maintaining the existing filing system in compliance with Data Protection Guidelines.

  • Updating internal databases with employee records, including contact details, employment forms, and contracts.

  • Assisting with logistics for internal meetings, interviews, and HR forums.

  • Collaborating with departmental teams to support cross-functional HR initiatives.

Vacancy 2: Airfreight Executive – Booking and Planning, and OKAM – Nairobi

As an Airfreight Executive focusing on Booking, Planning, and OKAM (One Kenya Airfreight Management), you will be the critical link between Airflo’s clients, capacity planners, airline partners, and documentation teams.

Your responsibilities will include:

OKAM Duties:

  • Verifying forecasted cargo volumes and route preferences provided by shippers.

  • Advocating preferred routing for high-priority customers and maintaining contact with internal planning and operations teams.

  • Accurately registering bookings received via email or phone in the system and providing booking confirmations.

  • Creating shipment records for unbooked deliveries and communicating with forwarding (FWD) entities.

  • Monitoring flight statuses and shipment irregularities, and promptly updating stakeholders.

  • Communicating airline weight and size rules to clients, ensuring accurate chargeable weight compliance.

  • Conducting regular customer visits to address service issues, gather feedback, and introduce improvements.

Booking & Planning Duties:

  • Liaising with airlines regarding allocation and cargo space changes.

  • Ensuring that all booking changes are updated in the system and shared with OKAM, Airflo BV, and internal teams.

  • Preparing shipment records and verifying data accuracy.

  • Reporting daily KPIs and cargo tracking metrics.

  • Escalating urgent client issues or operational delays to senior planners or department heads.

Vacancy 3: Airfreight Executive – Line Flights – Nairobi

Job Type: Permanent | Work Level: Junior

As the Airfreight Executive for Line Flights, your role is centered around line-haul cargo operations, with a strong focus on airline relations, equipment logistics, and schedule coordination.

Key responsibilities:

  • Contacting line flight carriers for up-to-date rates, capacity, equipment availability, and schedules.

  • Coordinating with consignees and shippers about handling charges, equipment allocation, and timelines.

  • Monitoring operations for shipment delivery status, including plant health checks and quality control clearances.

  • Ensuring all cargo departs as booked, including checking ULD utilization and equipment matching.

  • Managing any changes in ETD/ETA and informing clients proactively.

  • Keeping up with airline cargo trends, new route developments, and regulatory changes.

  • Supporting documentation teams in ensuring shipment compliance and regulatory approvals.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

HR Intern – Nairobi

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management from a recognized university.

  • Demonstrated confidentiality, integrity, and ethical standards.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and administrative skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

  • Willingness to learn and contribute to a dynamic HR team.

Airfreight Executive – Booking and Planning, and OKAM

  • KCSE Certificate with a C+ or higher.

  • A Diploma in Aviation Logistics, Cargo Handling, or a related commercial course (IATA Forwarding preferred).

  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience in airfreight booking, customer service, or cargo planning.

  • Knowledge of airline booking systems, cargo load planning, and shipment documentation.

  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage complex shipment data and customer interactions.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight shipment deadlines.

Airfreight Executive – Line Flights

  • KCSE Certificate (minimum C+ grade).

  • Diploma in a relevant aviation, transport, or commercial course.

  • At least 2 years of work experience in cargo planning or airfreight operations.

  • Proven understanding of ULD handling, airline equipment, and cargo coordination.

  • Strong customer service orientation and proactive problem-solving skills.

  • Comfortable using cargo management systems and liaising with international stakeholders.
