KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Vacancy 1: Lecturer – Finance & Accounting

Job Grade: 12

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Finance, Accounting, and related fields.

• Prepare teaching and learning materials, including course outlines, lecture notes, and multimedia content.

• Conduct tutorials, seminars, practical sessions, and continuous assessments in line with the university’s academic policy.

• Supervise students’ research projects, theses, and internships.

• Engage in curriculum development, review, and implementation based on industry needs.

• Participate in academic advisory, mentorship, and examination boards.

• Contribute to faculty research output by publishing in peer-reviewed journals and attending academic conferences.

Vacancy 2: Lecturer – Film & Animation

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach both theoretical and practical courses in Film Production, Animation, Cinematography, Storyboarding, and Post-Production.

• Guide students in practical film and animation projects using modern tools and digital editing suites.

• Develop interdisciplinary curricula that bridge creative arts with new media technology.

• Supervise student portfolios, research projects, and industry attachment assessments.

• Foster partnerships with film studios, production companies, and creative agencies for internship placements.

• Lead workshops, screenings, and creative exhibitions that build MMU’s film culture.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the university’s ICT strategy development and implementation, including digital transformation projects.

• Oversee installation, maintenance, security, and upgrading of software, hardware, and network systems.

• Supervise ICT staff across all campuses and ensure efficient helpdesk support for staff and students.

• Ensure availability of e-learning platforms, ERP systems, student portals, and administrative technologies.

• Maintain cybersecurity protocols, data privacy standards, and system integrity policies.

• Plan and manage ICT budgets, procurement, infrastructure upgrades, and vendor relationships.

• Provide advanced clinical nursing care to students, staff, and university community members.

• Supervise junior nurses and coordinate shift duties, leave schedules, and clinical training rotations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely drive university vehicles to transport staff, students, and guests for academic, field, and administrative activities.

• Ensure vehicles are clean, well-maintained, and regularly serviced.

• Maintain accurate journey logs, fuel consumption records, and maintenance reports.

• Report mechanical issues and arrange timely repairs with the transport officer.

• Ensure compliance with road safety regulations, university policies, and traffic laws at all times.

• Assist with loading and offloading official materials, documents, and equipment during assignments.

• Observe confidentiality and professionalism when handling university documents or VIP guests.

• Occasionally support errands such as mail delivery, bank transactions, or government appointments.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Lecturer – Finance & Accounting

• PhD in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from a recognized university.

• OR a Master’s degree with at least 3 years of teaching or research experience at the university level and two (2) publications in peer-reviewed journals.

• Strong grasp of IFRS, taxation laws, corporate finance, auditing, and contemporary accounting systems.

• Demonstrated ability to supervise student research and publish scholarly work.

Lecturer – Film & Animation

• PhD or Master’s degree in Film Production, Animation, Multimedia Arts, or related field from an accredited institution.

• At least 3 years of academic or industry experience, with a robust creative portfolio.

• Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, Autodesk Maya, Final Cut Pro, and other industry-standard tools.

• Strong communication, visual storytelling, and content development skills.

ICT Manager

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related ICT field.

• A minimum of 8 years of progressive ICT experience, three (3) of which must be at a senior management level.

• Certifications in Cisco, Microsoft, Linux, or Cybersecurity are highly desirable.

• Proven experience managing complex IT projects, ERP systems, and digital infrastructure in academic environments.

Senior Nurse

• Diploma or Degree in Nursing from a recognized institution.

• Registration with the Nursing Council of Kenya and valid practice license.

• Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience, preferably in a higher education or hospital setting.

• Strong triage, emergency care, and health education capabilities.

Driver

• KCSE Certificate with at least a D+ grade or equivalent.

• A valid Driving License Class BCE, with accident-free record for at least 5 years.

• Possession of a valid certificate of Good Conduct.

• Experience in driving institutional, NGO, or government vehicles is an added advantage.
