Key Responsibilities
As an Urban Designer, your role will encompass a wide range of responsibilities, including:
- Master Planning and Design:
- Crafting master plans, precinct plans, and site plans that reflect the highest and best use of land and infrastructure.
- Infusing urban design philosophies into all aspects of urban development within Tatu City.
- Collaboration and Coordination:
- Working independently and collaboratively with a multi-skilled team of architects, local government officials, building contractors, material suppliers, and community stakeholders.
- Coordinating development projects with other city programs and ensuring integration with land use and construction initiatives.
- Urban Design Guidelines:
- Supporting the development and implementation of urban design and architectural guidelines for the city to ensure a consistent, high-quality urban experience.
- Project Management:
- Preparing design concepts, schematic designs, and detailed plans for streetscapes, parks, housing, and commercial developments.
- Overseeing the administration and inspection of construction projects, ensuring quality and compliance with established standards.
- Master Plan Review:
- Reviewing and revising master plans based on input from the executive team and external professionals like engineers and land surveyors.
- Developer Requirements:
- Collaborating with sales and other teams to determine developer requirements and appropriately locating proposed developments within the city.
- Portfolio Support:
- Extending support to urban planning and design functions across other properties in the Rendeavour portfolio.
Qualifications and Skills
To succeed in this role, you should possess the following:
- Educational Background:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Urban Design, Landscape Architecture, or Architecture (a Master’s degree is an added advantage).
- Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years of demonstrable experience in urban design and development work.
- Exposure to international projects is highly preferred.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of urban design concepts, practices, and documentation processes.
- Familiarity with codes, laws, standards, and procedures relevant to urban planning and design.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication and team collaboration abilities.
- Ability to work under your own initiative and manage diverse stakeholders effectively.
