KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintain cleanliness and hygiene within the kitchen at all times.
Properly handle and clean kitchen utensils, equipment, and crockery.
Perform daily checks on kitchen equipment and promptly report any malfunctions to the caterer.
Ensure proper waste management, including timely disposal of bins and cleaning of grease traps.
Use detergents and tools correctly as per provided guidelines.
Assist with food preparation tasks, such as washing, peeling, and blending ingredients.
Transport food and beverages as required within the kitchen.
Set up and break down service areas for special events such as buffets and barbecues.
Replenish food items, cutlery, and crockery as needed.
Maintain high personal hygiene and professional appearance at all times.
Follow all health and safety regulations related to food handling and kitchen maintenance.
Carry out any other reasonable duties as assigned by the supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Education & Experience:

Minimum Academic Requirement: KCSE (Minimum Grade D+)
Experience: 1-2 years of relevant work experience in a hospitality or institutional kitchen environment.

Key Skills & Competencies:

Basic housekeeping skills, ensuring high sanitation standards.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) principles.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Flexible and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
Ability to work with minimal supervision while prioritizing duties effectively.
A quick learner who is adaptable to new kitchen regulations and safety guidelines.
