As a Sales Executive, you will play a critical role in driving business growth, expanding market reach, and maximizing profitability across Rooms, Food and Beverage, and other revenue-generating outlets.

SCOPE AND GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
As a Sales Executive, you will be responsible for:

Maximizing sales revenues and achieving pre-set departmental targets
-
Generating new business across all revenue streams including Rooms, F&B, Conferences, and Events
-
Strengthening relationships with existing clientele and building long-term partnerships
-
Executing sales strategies that ensure optimum market penetration and brand visibility
-
Coordinating with operational departments to ensure seamless guest experiences
You will work closely with the Sales Manager and oversee the Sales Coordinator while upholding Hyatt’s Consultative Selling principles and SMART Selling philosophies.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Duties
-
Ensure professional sales calls following Hyatt’s Consultative Selling and SMART Selling frameworks
-
Plan, organize, and execute sales calls with clear objectives
-
Maintain comprehensive knowledge of hotel features, services, and operational capabilities
-
Conduct extensive competitor research and maintain superior product knowledge
-
Systematically visit and manage assigned accounts, identify potential leads, and report findings to the Sales Manager
-
Actively pursue sales leads to identify new business prospects
-
Achieve high-level exposure for the hotel through direct solicitations, telemarketing, and written communications
-
Conduct client entertainment activities, including hotel inspections and business luncheons as necessary
-
Prepare and distribute accurate Event Orders to concerned departments
-
Follow up on pending matters in the absence of the Sales Manager or Sales Buddy
Customer Service Responsibilities

Conduct hotel site inspections and property tours for clients
-
Build and nurture strong relationships with established clientele
-
Ensure that client expectations are fully understood and consistently met
-
Address guest and client inquiries professionally and efficiently
-
Resolve complaints swiftly and escalate major issues appropriately
-
Maintain positive working relationships with guests, colleagues, and business partners
Financial Responsibilities
-
Assist in achieving monthly and annual personal sales targets contributing directly to hotel revenue
-
Maximize revenue generation from all business segments assigned
Personnel Responsibilities
-
Coach and guide Sales Coordinators to enhance their professional development
-
Monitor punctuality, appearance, grooming, and presentation standards of Sales Coordinators
-
Encourage creativity, innovation, and accountability within the team
-
Support Hyatt’s core values and participate in employee engagement activities, including action plans from Employee Opinion Surveys
Marketing Responsibilities

Assist in implementing marketing initiatives and promotions
-
Maintain up-to-date awareness of hotel promotions, packages, and internal policies
-
Execute telemarketing activities to target potential new accounts
Administrative Responsibilities
-
Maintain an efficient manual and electronic filing system for client and sales documentation
-
Track all contracts, quotations, sales agreements, and maintain complete records
-
Establish and monitor effective tracing systems to track booked business and follow-ups
-
Submit accurate sales activity reports to the Sales Manager promptly
Other Duties
-
Attend and actively participate in departmental meetings, training sessions, and hotel-wide initiatives
-
Foster professional working relationships with competitors, local business groups, airlines, and travel agents
-
Maintain high personal grooming standards and always adhere to hotel protocols
-
Perform any other reasonable duties assigned by management
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
-
Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management, Sales, Business Administration, or a related field
-
Minimum of 2 years of experience in hotel sales, hospitality marketing, or account management in the hotel industry
-
Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets and KPIs
-
Strong knowledge of the Nairobi hospitality market will be an added advantage
-
Excellent communication skills in English (both verbal and written)
-
Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM systems
-
Familiarity with Hyatt systems like Envision or Opera Sales and Catering will be a plus
