Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and bake a wide range of high-quality baked goods, ensuring consistency in flavour, texture, and presentation to meet customer expectations, particularly for the busy March season.
  • Follow and modify recipes as needed to create delicious products, including pastries, cakes, and breads, tailored to meet demand and seasonal trends, such as Easter celebrations in March.
  • Ensure products are checked and ready on time to adhere to baking schedules, meeting stringent standards for taste and consistency during peak March demand.
  • Perform quality checks on baked goods to ensure products meet our standards for taste, texture, and presentation, maintaining excellence in every batch for March retail distribution.
  • Ensure that all baked products are well sealed and packaged, adhering to food safety regulations and enhancing shelf life for retail distribution, especially for March holiday sales.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of baking most stored, labelled items, e.g., croissants, breads, cakes, muffins, and cookies, to maintain a diverse product offerings for March customers.
  • Understand how to clean, assemble, and disassemble machines correctly, such as food processors, scales, planetary mixers, and stick blenders, ensuring operational efficiency during the March rush.
  • Accurately measure ingredients and operate equipment with minimal supervision, maintaining precision in every step of the baking process to meet March production targets.

Qualifications and Skills

Required Skills:

  • Proven experience as a pastry chef or baker, with a strong background in preparing high-quality baked goods, especially for seasonal peaks like March.
  • Extensive knowledge of baking techniques, including pastry, bread, and cake production, with a focus on flavour, texture, and consistency for March holiday demands.
  • Proficiency in using baking equipment such as food processors, scales, planetary mixers, and stick blenders, with the ability to maintain and troubleshoot machinery during high-volume March periods.
  • Strong attention to detail to perform quality checks and ensure products meet standards for taste, presentation, and packaging, particularly for March retail readiness.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, managing time effectively to meet production deadlines, including the busy March season.
