The Media Council of Kenya (MCK), in collaboration with reputable media organizations across the country, is pleased to announce the Media Industrial Attachment Programme for the May to July 2025 Cohort.
This structured internship initiative is tailored for students pursuing journalism, communication, and related courses and aims to provide practical work experience in print, broadcast, and digital media platforms. The program helps young media professionals transition from academic theory to industry application—offering the skills, discipline, and mentorship needed to thrive in today’s competitive media landscape.
Successful applicants will be placed in top-tier media houses where they’ll learn newsroom operations, content creation, production, editing, and broadcasting—all under the guidance of seasoned journalists and editors.
Importantly, the Media Council of Kenya offers a monthly stipend to support each intern during their placement, ensuring a meaningful and supported learning experience.
ABOUT THE MEDIA COUNCIL OF KENYA (MCK)
The Media Council of Kenya (MCK) is an independent national institution established to regulate, monitor, and promote ethical and professional standards in Kenya’s media sector. MCK is responsible for media accreditation, setting of standards, training of media practitioners, and fostering press freedom while promoting responsible journalism.
Through initiatives like the Industrial Attachment Programme, MCK remains committed to nurturing the next generation of Kenyan media professionals. STIPEND SUPPORT
To support students during their attachment, the Media Council of Kenya will provide a monthly stipend for the three-month duration. The stipend is intended to assist with transport, meals, and minor expenses related to the internship.

Academic Eligibility
To qualify, applicants must be:

- Media Studies
- Communication

Must be registered for the Industrial Attachment Unit at their college or university

AREAS OF PLACEMENT
Interns accepted into the MCK Media Industrial Attachment Programme will be deployed to recognized media outlets across Kenya, including print, radio, television, and digital platforms.
