KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Management Trainee in the Sales & Marketing department, you will be immersed in a comprehensive on-the-job training program. Under the supervision of experienced departmental managers, your responsibilities will include:
- Participating in daily sales and marketing activities including planning, promotion, and client engagement for upcoming exhibitions and trade events.
- Supporting the design and execution of marketing campaigns to promote ASK events, services, and strategic partnerships across various regions in Kenya.
- Assisting in market research and competitor analysis to identify growth opportunities and tailor offerings to meet stakeholder needs.
- Maintaining accurate records and databases of marketing activities, client feedback, exhibitor data, and event performance.
- Liaising with internal teams and external stakeholders to coordinate marketing efforts, track deliverables, and maintain brand consistency.
- Participating in content development for marketing materials such as brochures, digital newsletters, social media posts, and exhibition guides.
- Providing administrative support in the planning and execution of national and regional exhibitions organized by ASK.
- Engaging in regular training sessions to enhance knowledge in modern marketing tools, digital marketing platforms, and customer relationship management systems.
This role is designed to evolve over time, allowing you to progressively handle more responsibilities and gain deep insights into Kenya’s agricultural and trade marketing landscape.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
To be considered for this competitive Management Trainee position, applicants must meet the following qualifications and competencies:
- Academic Excellence: Must hold a minimum of an upper second-class Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Sales, Trade, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized university.
- Age Requirement: Applicants must not be more than 28 years of age at the time of application.
- Technical Proficiency: Must possess strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Communication Skills: Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills for both internal collaboration and client engagement.
- Teamwork: Must be a team player with the ability to work in multidisciplinary environments and handle pressure effectively.
- Multitasking Ability: Must demonstrate strong organizational and multitasking capabilities with attention to detail.
- Integrity and Accountability: Must possess a valid Certificate of Good Conduct and be of high moral standing.
- Loan Compliance: Must provide a valid HELB Clearance Certificate as proof of compliance with the Higher Education Loans Board.
- Added Advantage: Membership with the Marketing Society of Kenya (MSK) or possession of a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing or Trade will be considered a distinct advantage.
