KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Administer and maintain the company’s IT infrastructure, including servers, desktop environments, networks, and communication systems.
- Ensure system reliability and uptime, implementing failover procedures and conducting regular system backups and disaster recovery testing.
- Oversee user access control and security, ensuring strict adherence to IT security policies and data protection standards.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware and software, including manufacturing-specific applications and ERP platforms.
- Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks or vulnerabilities, and optimize configurations for better efficiency.
- Provide first- and second-line technical support to employees, resolving IT-related issues promptly.
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments to support technology integrations, system upgrades, and workflow automations.
- Evaluate and recommend hardware/software upgrades, including vendor proposals, licensing, and service contracts.
- Manage IT asset inventory, ensuring equipment and licenses are tracked and accounted for across departments.
- Document procedures and maintain technical guides, user manuals, and IT reports for audit and compliance purposes.
- Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging technologies to keep the company’s systems current and competitive.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required.
- At least 3 years of proven experience in IT system administration or IT support within a busy work environment.
- Previous experience in the manufacturing sector or with industrial IT systems (e.g., ERP, production software) is a strong advantage.
- Relevant professional certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Cisco CCNA, or ITIL Foundation are highly desirable.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues effectively.
- Knowledge of network protocols, firewall management, system monitoring tools, and virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
- Ability to manage multiple IT projects simultaneously, with a commitment to meeting deadlines and ensuring minimal business disruption.
- High attention to detail, especially when handling system updates, patches, or infrastructure changes.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of explaining technical solutions in simple terms to non-technical staff.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with minimal supervision and a high level of integrity.
- Familiarity with IT compliance standards, such as ISO/IEC 27001 or GDPR, is an added advantage.
