Introduction

The Head of ICT is a critical leadership role responsible for the strategic and operational oversight of all aspects of ICT infrastructure. This position ensures the effective provisioning, installation, configuration, and maintenance of systems hardware, software, and related infrastructure. Additionally, the Head of ICT will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and managing ICT systems to support business operations, fostering innovation, and driving operational excellence. This is an on-site role with opportunities for career growth and impactful contributions.

Key Responsibilities:

As the Head of ICT, your primary duties will include:

• Overseeing the design, implementation, and management of IT infrastructure, including Local Area Networks (LANs), Wide Area Networks (WANs), and virtual data centers.
• Managing and maintaining communication systems such as PABX, WhatsApp Chatbot, Active Directory, desktop phones, and video conferencing tools to ensure seamless operations.
• Leading IT projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery within budget.
• Developing and enforcing policies to safeguard data security, network integrity, and overall system performance.
• Conducting periodic assessments to optimize ERP systems, database administration, and cloud computing environments.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and implement innovative ICT solutions.
• Monitoring and improving system performance, reliability, and scalability through robust maintenance and upgrades.
• Providing technical support and training to staff, fostering a technology-driven and results-oriented environment.
• Preparing and managing the ICT department budget, aligning with organizational goals and priorities.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related fields.

Certifications:

• Project management certifications such as PMP or PRINCE2.
• IT security certifications like CISSP or CISM are highly desirable.

Technical Expertise:

• Proven experience in network architecture, ERP systems, and data management.
• Hands-on expertise in cloud computing, virtualization, and cybersecurity practices.
• Strong background in database administration and system integration.

Soft Skills:

• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Leadership skills to inspire and guide a team toward achieving strategic objectives.

Key Competencies:

• Project Management: Spearheading IT infrastructure upgrades and ensuring smooth project execution.
• Infrastructure Development: Designing and optimizing IT networks, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Data Security & Compliance: Establishing robust disaster recovery plans and safeguarding critical data.
• Team Leadership: Leading IT staff and fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.
• Technical Oversight: Monitoring performance, security, and functionality of IT systems.
