Are you an experienced Finance Director looking for an opportunity to lead a high-impact financial operation in Nairobi, Kenya? This is a career-defining role where you will drive financial planning, operational finance, compliance, and strategic decision-making for a rapidly growing business.

As the Finance Director, you will play a key role in ensuring financial efficiency, governance, and strategic alignment with company objectives. You will collaborate closely with the Kenya Country CEO, Group CFO, and other key stakeholders to oversee financial planning, reporting, and risk management across farm operations, logistics, retail, and expansion projects.

Key Responsibilities of the Finance Director

1. Operational Finance Oversight

Lead end-to-end business processes for farm, lake, logistics, and sales operations.
Implement financial controls and cost-efficiency measures across operations.
Collaborate with the Finance Manager (Operations) to drive profitability and performance optimization.
Ensure transactional activities align with Accounting, Tax, and Treasury policies.

2. Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting with the FP&A team.
Deliver data-driven insights to support executive decision-making.
Monitor and analyze profitability across revenue streams and cost categories.

3. Risk & Internal Control Management

Work with the Internal Audit & Enterprise Risk Manager to enforce governance and risk compliance.
Develop and implement internal control mechanisms to safeguard company assets.
Participate in audit reviews and risk management committee meetings.

4. Finance Team Leadership & Process Optimization

Build and mentor a high-performing finance team.
Promote automation, standardization, and digital transformation to enhance scalability.
Introduce advanced financial analytics tools like PowerBI to improve decision-making.

5. Driving Cross-Company Profitability

Lead cost-reduction and revenue-enhancing initiatives.
Work with the Country CEO to analyze the ROI of business investments.

6. Regulatory Compliance & Governance

Ensure adherence to local tax regulations, financial reporting standards, and company policies.
Collaborate with the Accounting & Treasury team to manage tax risks and maintain compliance.

Qualifications & Skills Required

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
CPA, ACCA, or CFA certification is mandatory.
At least 10 years of progressive experience in finance, with 5+ years in a senior leadership role.
Proven management accounting experience.
Strong ERP systems expertise, along with advanced Excel and PowerBI skills.

Preferred Experience:

Background in FMCG, agriculture, or logistics finance operations.
Strong track record of financial strategy execution and process optimization.
Experience leading cross-functional teams.
