Key Responsibilities of the Ecosystem Lead Generator Role

As the Ecosystem Lead Generator, you will play a critical role in driving sales, enhancing customer experience, ensuring compliance, and contributing to team development.

1. Sales to Ecosystem Customers (60%)

  • Deliver exceptional sales performance by identifying and meeting customer needs through selling and cross-selling of all Absa Bank Retail products and services to ecosystem customers.
  • Provide hands-on sales support, including quality lead generation and effective follow-ups, to convert leads into actual sales.
  • Participate in product campaigns and explain products clearly to customers.
  • Achieve and exceed specific sales targets and maintain personal sales performance statistics.
  • Manage personal product and channel sales targets to meet direct sales objectives.
  • Complete account opening documentation with customers and submit for processing.
  • Conduct financial analysis for customers applying for loans, and communicate decisions clearly.
  • Follow up with customers post-account opening, providing necessary contact information and support.

2. Customer Service (15%)

  • Own customer queries and complaints related to account openings, loans, and card applications, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Build strong relationships with internal service providers, including Operations and the KYC Helpdesk.
  • Advise customers on loan approvals and encourage loan drawdowns.
  • Open scheme loan accounts referred by the Scheme Loans Relationship Managers.

3. Operational Rigour, Compliance, and Controls (15%)

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise-Wide Risk Management Framework, and Absa internal policies.
  • Maintain accuracy of account opening documents, loan documents, and customer forms, taking personal accountability for quality.
  • Follow end-to-end account opening procedures to ensure KYC compliance.
  • Escalate unresolved items and risk events promptly to the Line Manager.
  • Comply with general operational risk requirements, including Health & Safety standards, anti-money laundering regulations, and security protocols.

4. Contribute to Team Development and Personal Growth (10%)

  • Share knowledge and experiences with fellow Lead Generators.
  • Provide cover for other Lead Generators during high workloads or absences.
  • Deputize for the Line Manager when necessary.
  • Set annual performance objectives, including specific sales targets, and pursue personal development opportunities.

Qualifications and Skills Required

Educational Qualifications:

  • Further Education and Training Certificate (FETC) in Business, Commerce, or Management Studies (Required).

Professional Experience:

  • Proven experience in sales, customer service, or banking roles.
  • Strong understanding of financial products, risk management, and regulatory compliance.

Technical Competencies:

  • Proficiency in sales techniques, customer relationship management, and product knowledge.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with banking systems and financial services industry standards.

Interpersonal Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet sales targets.
  • Strong team player with the ability to share knowledge and support colleagues.
