Key Responsibilities
As a Data Clerk, your primary responsibilities will include:
1. Data Entry and Processing
- Accurately input and update critical data into designated computer systems.
- Transfer paper-based records, scanned documents, and reports into digital databases.
- Maintain high levels of data integrity and security.
2. Data Verification and Accuracy
- Cross-check and verify entered data against original documents.
- Identify and correct errors or discrepancies in data entries.
- Ensure completeness, consistency, and accuracy in all records.
3. Data Formatting and Organization
- Organize digital files systematically for easy retrieval and reference.
- Ensure data follows proper formats, fields, and categorization.
- Assist in data cleaning and categorization for analysis purposes.
4. Database Management
- Regularly update and maintain databases with new or corrected information.
- Identify duplicate or missing records and take appropriate corrective measures.
5. Administrative and Customer Support
- Assist in record-keeping, file management, and document storage.
- Work with various departments to retrieve or verify essential data.
- Provide data-related support to internal and external stakeholders.
Required Qualifications and Skills
To qualify for the Data Clerk position, applicants must meet the following criteria:
Minimum Requirements
- Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) with a minimum grade of C Minus (-) or an equivalent qualification.
- Proficiency in computer applications, demonstrated by relevant experience or certification.
Preferred Skills and Competencies
- Strong typing speed and accuracy in data entry.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify errors.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, and database management software.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
- Good communication skills for retrieving and updating information.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
