Available Internship Positions
Murang’a County Public Service Board is recruiting for the following internship positions:
- General Interns – 11 Positions
- Communication & Media Interns – 3 Positions
- Youth Polytechnic Instructors Interns – 7 Positions
- ECDE Caregivers Interns – 10 Positions
- Medical Laboratory Technologist Interns – 10 Positions
- ICT Interns – 3 Positions
- Supply Chain Management Intern – 1 Position
- Automotive Engineering Intern – 1 Position
Key Responsibilities
Depending on the position applied for, interns will take on the following responsibilities:
General Interns:
- Assist in administrative tasks across various county departments.
- Prepare reports, data entry, and maintain departmental records.
- Support in organizing county events and public functions.
Communication & Media Interns:
- Create and edit content for county communication channels.
- Assist in public relations and event coverage.
- Manage social media accounts and draft press releases.
Youth Polytechnic Instructors Interns:
- Provide instructional support to students in polytechnics.
- Assist in curriculum development and practical demonstrations.
- Mentor students and participate in student outreach programs.
ECDE Caregivers Interns:
- Facilitate early childhood education through teaching and child care.
- Plan and execute age-appropriate activities for children.
- Maintain classroom organization and track student progress.
Medical Laboratory Technologist Interns:
- Support laboratory operations, including sample collection and analysis.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards in laboratories.
- Maintain accurate records of diagnostic tests.
ICT Interns:
- Provide IT support for county departments.
- Maintain and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network systems.
- Develop and manage departmental databases and websites.
Supply Chain Management Intern:
- Assist in procurement processes and supplier relations.
- Monitor inventory and manage departmental stock.
- Ensure compliance with procurement regulations and policies.
Automotive Engineering Intern:
- Support in vehicle maintenance and repair tasks.
- Conduct inspections and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs and services performed.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be a Kenyan citizen not over the age of 45 years.
- Be an unemployed graduate from a recognized training institution with a degree or diploma completed within the last 24 months.
- Possess academic qualifications relevant to the internship position applied for.
- Have no prior internship experience or work exposure in the field of study.
- Not have exited from formal employment.
All applications must include the following documents:
- A letter of application supported by the applicant’s university/college or related institution’s transcripts.
- Certified copies of academic and professional certificates.
- A valid form of identification (National ID or passport).
Terms of Service
- Unpaid Internship: The County Government will not offer employment after the completion of the internship program.
- Interns will commit to a 12-month program to gain full benefits.
- Only complete applications will be considered.
- Shortlisted applicants will be contacted for interviews.
