INTRODUCTION

The Ministry of Health (MoH), under the State Department for Medical Services, is spearheading a monumental digital transformation of Kenya’s public health sector. This is being implemented through the Health Information Technology Digitization for Universal Healthcare Project, a national initiative designed to support the Government’s commitment to Universal Health Coverage (UHC).

This strategic transformation is powered by the Digital Health Agency (DHA), established under the Digital Health Act, 2023, to develop and operationalize an integrated digital health ecosystem in Kenya. To facilitate this implementation, the Ministry has partnered with the Safaricom Consortium and established a dedicated Project Management Office (PMO).

To build the team that will lead this change, the Ministry is inviting qualified, experienced, and passionate professionals to apply for 61 job openings across diverse areas including project management, software engineering, cybersecurity, health informatics, cloud infrastructure, finance, and more.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

The Health Information Technology Digitization for Universal Healthcare Project aims to:

• Streamline health information management

• Improve patient data access and continuity of care

• Enhance reporting, analytics, and health surveillance

• Create a secure, scalable, and resilient digital infrastructure across the country

Successful applicants will be engaged on a two-year renewable contract and placed under the newly created Digital Health Agency (DHA) to implement core modules and infrastructure that will form the foundation of a digital health platform for Kenya.
