Key Responsibilities of ICT Assistant III

As an ICT Assistant III, you will play an important role in ensuring the smooth operation of ICT systems within the department. Your main duties will include:

1. ICT Systems Support

  • Installing, configuring, and troubleshooting hardware and software systems.
  • Providing first-level technical support to resolve ICT-related issues.
  • Performing routine maintenance on computers, printers, and other peripherals.

2. Network Management

  • Assisting in network configuration, installation, and maintenance (LAN, WAN, and wireless networks).
  • Monitoring network performance and addressing connectivity issues.
  • Ensuring network security through firewall configurations and encryption protocols.

3. Data Security and Management

  • Ensuring data integrity, confidentiality, and protection against cyber threats.
  • Implementing backup and recovery procedures to safeguard critical data.
  • Monitoring system vulnerabilities and taking preventive measures.

4. User Support and Training

  • Providing ICT training and guidance to employees.
  • Responding to technical support requests and resolving ICT-related concerns.
  • Assisting users in software application usage and troubleshooting.

5. System Maintenance and Upgrades

  • Conducting software updates, patches, and upgrades.
  • Managing ICT inventories and keeping records of system configurations.
  • Ensuring compliance with ICT policies, standards, and guidelines.

Qualifications and Skills

To qualify for this role, applicants must have:

Minimum Academic Qualifications:

A Diploma in any of the following fields from a recognized institution:

  • Computer Science
  • Information Communication Technology (ICT)
  • Information Technology (IT)
  • Computer Engineering
  • Electronic Engineering
  • Software Engineering
  • Business Information Technology
  • Data Science
  • Telecommunications Engineering
  • Cyber Security
  • Equivalent ICT-related qualifications

Preferred Skills and Abilities:
