Key Responsibilities

As an Infrastructure Portfolio Management Intern, you will support the Africa Infrastructure Team in managing a $5 billion portfolio. Your core responsibilities will include:

Project-Related Responsibilities:

  • Define key commercial, credit, and operational criteria for tracking portfolio projects.
  • Develop a comprehensive database for structuring new transactions.
  • Improve documentation processes for legal agreements, project bibles, amendments, and waivers.

Portfolio Operational Responsibilities:

  • Assist Portfolio Leads in designing templates for credit review tracking.
  • Establish a repository for portfolio knowledge management, including lessons learned, guidance notes, and performance reviews.
  • Support training sessions on fund valuation, equity valuation, and supervision methodologies.

Fund Management Responsibilities:

  • Create IFC Africa Infrastructure Team Fund Investment reports (two-pagers) for ongoing projects.
  • Assist in generating a CRR (Credit Risk Review) in line with IFC’s investment procedures.

Qualifications and Skills

To be considered for this opportunity, candidates must meet the following requirements:

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a Master’s degree program in Finance, Accounting, or Statistics.
  • Minimum two years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong Excel skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CFA certification is an added advantage.
  • Experience in financial modeling and risk assessment.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure finance and investment principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
