Key Highlights of the Internship Program

1. Duration

• 6 months of intensive professional training.
• 4 months of hands-on job attachment.

2. Training Location

• Storymoja Offices, Nairobi, Kenya.

3. Comprehensive Stipend

• General participants receive Ksh 20,000/month for transport.
• Editorial-focused candidates mastering professional editing skills receive Ksh 40,000/month.

4. Program Benefits

• Led by seasoned industry professionals and expert consultants.
• Extensive training in editing fiction, textbooks, and teacher resources, including:
  1. Research
  2. Substantive editing
  3. Copyediting
  4. Proofreading
• Development of key business skills: commercial awareness, marketing, communication, and personal effectiveness.
• Certificates of completion awarded for successful participation.
• Daily lunch provided during the program.

5. Key Dates

• Training Period: February 18 – December 18, 2025.
• First Round Online Interviews: January 16 – January 24, 2025.
• Shortlisted Candidates: Invited for physical interviews at Storymoja Offices.

Key Responsibilities

As part of the Storymoja Graduate Internship Program, you will:

• Engage in intensive training across editing, research, and publishing processes.
• Master the art of substantive editing, copyediting, and proofreading across various formats.
• Participate in the development of innovative teacher resources and educational content.
• Gain exposure to business operations, including marketing strategies and communication techniques.
• Collaborate with team members to enhance your problem-solving and commercial awareness skills.

Qualifications and Skills

Required Qualifications

• Recent graduate with a degree in any field (candidates with editorial experience are highly encouraged to apply).
• Demonstrated communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
• Availability for the program dates (February – December 2025).
