Introduction
The Nakuru County Public Service Board invites applications for the positions of Municipal Managers for the Gilgil and Molo Municipal Boards. These positions offer an exceptional opportunity to contribute to the strategic development and efficient management of municipal services in Nakuru County.
As a Municipal Manager, you will be pivotal in driving the execution of municipal strategies, ensuring compliance with relevant policies, and fostering stakeholder engagement to promote sustainable development.
Key Responsibilities
As a Municipal Manager, your duties will include:
- Policy Implementation: Execute the decisions and policies of the Municipal Board to achieve operational excellence.
- Administrative Oversight: Lead and manage daily municipal activities, including planning, budgeting, and performance monitoring.
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement strategies to enhance service delivery and community engagement.
- Stakeholder Relations: Build and maintain productive relationships with local stakeholders, ensuring effective collaboration for community projects.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to laws, guidelines, and standards governing municipal operations.
- Progress Reporting: Provide regular updates to the Municipal Board, highlighting achievements, challenges, and areas for improvement.
Qualifications and Skills
Minimum Requirements for Appointment:
- Kenyan Citizenship: Must be a Kenyan citizen.
- Educational Qualification: A university degree recognized in Kenya or its equivalent.
- Professional Experience: At least 10 years of proven experience in administration or management within the public or private sector.
Desirable Attributes:
- Demonstrated leadership abilities.
- Proficiency in municipal governance and public administration.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Terms of Service
- Contract Duration: Five (5) years.
- Remuneration: As per guidelines provided by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC).
