Key Responsibilities of the Human Resource Officer

  • Act as a strategic HR partner, ensuring alignment between HR initiatives and business objectives.
  • Manage talent acquisition, workforce planning, and retention strategies to attract top talent.
  • Oversee employee relations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary processes to maintain a positive work environment.
  • Implement and monitor performance management frameworks, including goal setting, appraisals, and employee feedback.
  • Ensure compliance with Kenyan labor laws, employment regulations, and company HR policies.
  • Analyze HR metrics and workforce data to drive data-informed decisions and improve organizational efficiency.
  • Advise managers and team leaders on HR best practices, employee engagement, and leadership development.
  • Organize and oversee employee training programs, fostering continuous professional development.
  • Support HR projects, including policy updates, compensation structures, and workplace culture improvements.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, ensuring compliance with HR documentation policies.

Qualifications and Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in HR, with at least 2 years in an HR Business Partner (HRBP) role.
  • Strong understanding of employment laws, HR best practices, and industry trends.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Experience in talent management, employee engagement, and workforce planning.
  • Ability to analyze HR data and provide strategic recommendations to senior management.
  • Proficiency in HR software and digital HR tools to streamline HR processes.
  • Must be a registered member of IHRM (Institute of Human Resource Management) and in good standing.
