1. Chairperson – County Executive Audit Committee (1 Position)
Requirements for Appointment
To be eligible for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Must be a Kenyan Citizen.
- Hold at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration (Accounting Option), or any other related field from a recognized institution in Kenya.
- A Master’s Degree in a relevant field will be an added advantage.
- Must be a registered and active member of a professional body such as ICPAK, CPSK, ACFE, LSK, IIA, or any other recognized professional body.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, five (5) of which must be at a senior management level.
- Must be an independent, proactive leader with a strong sense of integrity and strategic oversight.
- Highly respected professional with strong interpersonal and decision-making skills.
- Excellent understanding of risk management frameworks and audit committee functions.
- Must satisfy the provisions of Chapter Six of the Kenyan Constitution.
- Not a past or present employee of Kisii County Government and must not have been an employee or agent of a business organization that has engaged in business with the County Government of Kisii in the past two years.
- Should not hold any political office.
Duties & Responsibilities
As the Chairperson of the County Executive Audit Committee, you will be responsible for:
- Providing strategic leadership and oversight in governance, risk management, and internal control frameworks.
- Offering guidance on financial compliance, audit policies, and risk assessment strategies.
- Ensuring the implementation of internal and external audit recommendations for improved governance.
- Conducting regular reviews of audit committee effectiveness and governance structures.
- Providing independent decision-making in line with constitutional, policy, and legal frameworks.
- Acting as a liaison between the audit committee and the County Executive Committee (CEC).
Tenure & Remuneration
- Term: Three (3) years, renewable once based on performance.
- Remuneration: Allowances as determined by SRC.
2. Members – County Executive Audit Committee (3 Positions)
Requirements for Appointment
Eligible candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Must be a Kenyan Citizen.
- Hold a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized institution in Kenya.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience, with at least five (5) years in a senior management role.
- Must meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
- Should not be a past or present employee of Kisii County Government or have worked for a company doing business with the county in the last two years.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of public service values as outlined in Articles 10 and 232 of the Kenyan Constitution.
- Excellent knowledge of governance, financial audits, and public finance regulations.
- Must be a registered member of a recognized professional body.
- Not a holder of a political office.
Duties & Responsibilities
As a Member of the County Executive Audit Committee, you will be responsible for:
- Evaluating the performance of the internal audit function.
- Reviewing internal and external audit reports, ensuring that appropriate actions are taken.
- Enhancing communication between the committee and both internal & external auditors.
- Addressing risk management and financial reporting compliance.
- Following up on the implementation of audit recommendations.
- Ensuring that the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) and Public Investment Committee (PIC) recommendations are effectively implemented.

- Term: Three (3) years, renewable once based on performance.
- Remuneration: Allowances as determined by SRC.
