INTRODUCTION

Are you passionate about innovation, education, and youth empowerment? The Tech Challenge Kenya 2025 is calling for Volunteer Judges to be part of this exciting event!

As a Volunteer Judge, you will have the opportunity to evaluate team solutions, provide constructive feedback, and make award recommendations based on real-world problem-solving scenarios. No prior tech experience is required—full training will be provided!

This is an incredible opportunity to inspire and mentor young innovators while gaining valuable experience in STEM mentorship, leadership, and problem-solving evaluation.

ABOUT THE TECH CHALLENGE KENYA

The Tech Challenge Kenya is an annual competition that brings together young minds to solve real-world problems using technology and innovation. The program fosters creativity, critical thinking, and teamwork while preparing participants for future careers in STEM fields.

Participants receive hands-on mentorship, engage in collaborative teamwork, and pitch their innovative solutions to a panel of judges. The Tech Challenge Kenya is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of problem solvers and tech leaders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF A VOLUNTEER JUDGE

As a Volunteer Judge, your role will include:

  • Evaluating team solutions based on criteria such as creativity, feasibility, and impact.
  • Providing positive and constructive feedback to participants to help them improve their skills.
  • Collaborating with other judges to ensure fair and consistent scoring.
  • Making award recommendations based on team performances.
  • Attending a short training session to understand judging criteria and event structure.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  • No prior tech experience required! Judges come from diverse backgrounds, including STEM, business, education, and leadership.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills to evaluate projects and provide clear feedback.
  • Interest in youth mentorship and fostering innovation.
  • Ability to commit to the event dates (either Kisumu or Nakuru) and attend the mandatory training session.
  • A collaborative mindset to work alongside fellow judges and event organizers.
