Key Responsibilities
As a Tuber Village Connector, your main duties will include:
- Conducting Farmer Outreach: Build and maintain relationships with potato farmers and farmer groups in the designated counties.
- Providing Agricultural Training: Deliver workshops and hands-on training sessions on sustainable potato farming practices.
- Facilitating Resource Access: Help farmers access the necessary tools, seeds, and technologies to optimize their crop yield.
- Monitoring and Reporting: Regularly assess farmer progress and report findings to the Project Manager.
- Promoting Community Engagement: Encourage participation among youths, women, and individuals with disabilities in agricultural activities.
- Project Management: Coordinate project activities within the villages and ensure adherence to timelines and objectives.
Qualifications and Skills
Required Qualifications:
- A Diploma or Certificate in Agriculture or an equivalent field.
- Strong technical and project management skills.
- Must be aged between 18-30 years.
- Residing within Nakuru or Nyandarua Counties.
- Membership in a farmers group, preferably a potato farming group.
Preferred Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Familiarity with local farming practices in Nakuru and Nyandarua Counties.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse groups.
