The Aga Khan Academy, Nairobi (AKA, Nairobi) is an International Baccalaureate (IB) continuum school, offering Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP), and Diploma Programme (DP). With over 1,000 students, the academy provides a diverse and innovative learning environment.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Transport Coordination (50%)

• Implement and maintain a comprehensive transport scheduling system.
• Collaborate with school administration and parents to address transportation needs.
• Assign and manage driver schedules to optimize efficiency.
• Conduct regular vehicle inspections and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Maintain detailed records of vehicle inspections, repairs, and servicing.
• Prepare and submit transport operation reports to management.
• Coordinate with external service providers for vehicle maintenance and repairs.

 

Driver Duties (50%)

 

• Transport students and staff safely and punctually.
• Ensure vehicles are clean, fueled, and properly maintained.
• Adhere to traffic laws and school transport policies.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Report mechanical or safety issues to the administration.
• Support transportation for field trips and school events.
• Assist in planning and executing transport logistics for school functions.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

 

• Minimum academic qualification: K.C.S.E certificate with at least a D+ grade.
• Valid Kenyan driver’s license with a clean record.
• Proven experience in a similar role, ideally in a school environment.
• Strong ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Excellent communication skills in English and Swahili.
• Familiarity with vehicle maintenance and road safety protocols.
• Proficiency in coordinating transport schedules and operations.
• Prior experience in educational institutions is an added advantage.
