About the Role

As a Tax Senior Associate, you will support the delivery of various tax engagements, ensure compliance with Deloitte’s professional standards, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions. You will play a key role in offering advisory services that address tax challenges faced by clients in Kenya and beyond.


Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities as a Tax Senior Associate will include:

  • Delivering Client Projects: Supporting the execution of tax engagements and ensuring timely implementation of agreed deliverables.
  • Proposals and Presentations: Assisting in the preparation of client proposals and professional presentations.
  • Innovative Tax Solutions: Collaborating with team members to develop creative solutions for tax-related challenges.
  • Knowledge Development: Enhancing your expertise in current tax issues and trends across the tax function.
  • Client Services: Ensuring compliance with Deloitte’s ethical principles while delivering exceptional service.
  • Data Analysis: Using advanced tools and visualizations to analyze data and generate actionable insights.
  • Product Development: Contributing to the creation and marketing of new tax products.
  • Tax Risk Reviews: Conducting comprehensive assessments to identify tax risks and opportunities.
  • Drafting Tax Documents: Preparing tax opinions, advice, computations, and proposals tailored to client needs.
  • Relationship Management: Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA).
  • Resolving KRA Issues: Assisting clients in addressing KRA audits, objections, appeals, and account statements.
  • Tax Publications: Drafting articles and publications on emerging tax topics to inform and educate clients.

Qualifications and Skills

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Commerce, Economics, or Law.
  • At least 2 years of relevant working experience in tax-related roles.
  • Professional certification in CPA or ACCA is mandatory.
