As a Shopper Manager – Premium Spirits, you will play a pivotal role in transforming our premium spirits portfolio and driving innovation in one of the most dynamic markets in East Africa.

This is an onsite role based in Kenya. You will collaborate with industry experts, tap into robust global resources, and have the opportunity to impact the growing premium spirits market.
Key Responsibilities
As the Shopper Manager – Premium Spirits, you will lead initiatives to enhance sales, distribution, and market penetration through premium retail and distribution channels. Your key responsibilities will include:
Channel Strategy Development
- Craft and implement channel strategies aligned with business goals, market dynamics, and consumer behaviors.
- Identify and prioritize target channels based on market opportunities and competitive analysis.
- Define channel-specific objectives, KPIs, and performance metrics to measure success and track progress.
- Collaborate on integrated marketing campaigns leveraging both brand and channel-specific insights.
Distribution Management
- Optimize product distribution strategies to enhance availability and reach in target markets.
- Evaluate distribution network performance, identifying opportunities for expansion or optimization.
- Develop sales plans and targets to drive market share growth.
Channel Marketing and Promotion
- Develop and execute channel-specific marketing and promotional campaigns.
- Coordinate with marketing teams to create channel-specific materials such as POS displays and promotional collateral.
- Monitor and assess the effectiveness of marketing campaigns, adjusting strategies as needed to maximize ROI.
Market Analysis and Insights
- Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and consumer insights to understand channel dynamics.
- Utilize data analytics to identify opportunities for growth, innovation, and differentiation.
- Stay informed on industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging market opportunities.
Budget Management
- Develop and manage the channel budget, allocating resources based on strategic priorities.
- Optimize spending to ensure efficiency and maximize impact on channel performance.
Qualifications and Skills
To excel in this role, you should possess the following:
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (Postgraduate qualifications are an advantage).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a commercial or customer marketing role within an FMCG organization.
- Proven track record in field sales and customer marketing, with strong planning and execution capabilities.
- Deep understanding of customer marketing fundamentals and BTL processes.
Technical and Interpersonal Skills
- Strong capability to coach teams and transfer knowledge effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and manage relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
