INTRODUCTION
The Kenya Power Pension Fund (KPPF) is a registered Retirement Benefits Scheme operating under the Retirement Benefits Authority. It plays a crucial role in securing the financial future of permanent and pensionable employees of Kenya Power and the Nuclear Power & Energy Agency. The Fund ensures timely provision of pension benefits upon retirement or withdrawal and extends benefits to dependents in the unfortunate event of an employee’s demise during service.
As part of its transformative agenda, KPPF seeks to onboard a Senior Pension Officer, Member Services, a dynamic and highly skilled professional responsible for overseeing pension administration, member engagement, and service excellence. This role is designed for a results-driven individual with deep expertise in pension management, regulatory compliance, and customer service.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Pension Administration: Oversee the administration of pension schemes, ensuring accuracy in member records, benefits calculation, and timely disbursement of pensions.
- Member Services: Provide high-quality customer service to scheme members, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and facilitating smooth benefits processing.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to Retirement Benefits Authority (RBA) regulations, tax laws, and pension industry best practices.
- Records Management: Maintain and update member records, ensuring data accuracy and security in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Policy Implementation: Assist in the formulation, review, and enforcement of pension policies to enhance fund management and member satisfaction.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including regulators, auditors, and financial institutions, to uphold fund governance and operational excellence.
- Member Education: Conduct pension awareness programs, workshops, and training sessions to educate members on benefits, contributions, and retirement planning.
- Dispute Resolution: Address member concerns and disputes professionally and efficiently, ensuring timely resolutions that align with pension policies and regulations.
- Technology Utilization: Leverage pension administration systems to enhance operational efficiency and digital member engagement.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks affecting pension fund administration and member service delivery.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Actuarial Science, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professional Certifications: Membership with the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), or Retirement Benefits Authority certification is an added advantage.
- Experience: Minimum of five (5) years in pension administration, financial services, or benefits management.
- Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the Retirement Benefits Authority (RBA) regulations, tax laws, and pension governance.
- Technical Expertise: Proficiency in pension administration systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Analytical Skills: Strong data analysis and reporting skills to support pension decision-making.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain pension-related information effectively.
- Customer Service Orientation: Ability to handle member queries with professionalism, empathy, and efficiency.
- Attention to Detail: High accuracy in financial calculations and record-keeping.
- Problem-Solving Ability: Strong decision-making skills to address pension-related issues effectively.
- Integrity: High ethical standards and commitment to confidentiality in handling pension matters.
