Key Responsibilities

As the Senior Associate – Branch Support, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the operational efficiency, compliance, and overall excellence of our branch network. Your primary duties include:

1. Effective Branch Support

  • Conduct regular branch visits to ensure proper maintenance, general tidiness, and adherence to the bank’s operational standards.
  • Provide operational assistance during the opening or relocation of branches, ensuring all requirements are met.
  • Collaborate with the Procurement and Logistics teams to source essential materials for branch readiness.

2. Audit and Compliance Support

  • Attend audit entry and exit meetings to stay updated on branch-related audit matters.
  • Mentor branch operations teams to address weaknesses identified in audits.
  • Identify common operational lapses and implement uniform corrective actions, including updates to controls or training programs.

3. Monitoring and Review

  • Prepare and analyze controls and exception reports to identify irregularities.
  • Review branch suspense accounts and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies.
  • Conduct comprehensive reviews of cash holdings, drafts, cheques, credit cards, and other instruments to ensure compliance.

4. Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure weekly submissions of regulatory reports, including FRC, large cash transactions, and heightened activity reports, adhering to CBK timelines.
  • Oversee the filing of UFAA returns and respond to KRA agency notices promptly.

5. Coordination and Engagement

  • Act as secretary for zone UORCCO meetings, preparing minutes and tracking action points.
  • Resolve branch incident reports and escalate unresolved issues.
  • Monitor and address customer service complaints within your zone to ensure timely resolution.

Qualifications and Skills

Academic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Banking, or a related field.

Work Experience

  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, including at least 1 year in a senior management role in a similar organization.
