Key Responsibilities

As the Security Coordinator, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of all hospital stakeholders and assets. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop Security Awareness Programs: Create initiatives to educate employees on security protocols and measures.
  • Lead Investigations: Oversee all investigations related to security incidents and breaches.
  • Gather Intelligence: Establish effective systems to detect, gather, and report criminal activities.
  • Liaise with Stakeholders: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enforce standard operating procedures.
  • Conduct Security Audits: Perform comprehensive security audits at the hospital and outreach centers.
  • Prepare Audit Reports: Document and present findings for supervisor review and approval.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify security risks and recommend mitigation strategies aligned with hospital policies.
  • Develop Training Manuals: Assist in creating and updating security training materials.
  • Emergency Response: Be readily available to respond to emergencies.
  • Feedback Management: Address and act upon feedback from patients, staff, and other clients regarding security services.
  • Support Climate Change Agenda: Participate in hospital-driven sustainability initiatives.

Qualifications and Skills

To succeed in this role, candidates must possess the following:

  • Educational Background:
    • Diploma or Degree in Criminology, Security Studies, or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • Experience:
    • A minimum of three (3) years in security management, preferably in police, military, or corporate security.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in electronic security systems, including CCTV, biometric access control, and radio communication.
    • Experience in criminal investigations, first aid, and fire safety.
  • Professional Skills:
    • Strong coordination abilities and effective communication.
    • Familiarity with computer systems and reporting tools.
  • Professional Accreditation:
    • Registration with a relevant professional body in good standing.
