Key Responsibilities

As a Security and Safety Officer, your main duties will include:

• Overseeing and ensuring compliance with security policies, codes of practice, and operational strategies across all bank branches.
• Coordinating security services and ensuring effective surveillance at the head office and all branches.
• Conducting security risk assessments and providing recommendations to senior management.
• Investigating fraud cases involving bank staff and preparing detailed reports for the disciplinary committee.
• Encouraging staff to report incidents, analyzing emerging security threats, and formulating preventive measures.
• Managing the security budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources for optimal safety.
• Acting as a liaison between the bank and law enforcement agencies, ensuring smooth communication and prompt action in sensitive matters.
• Coordinating court hearings and witness presentations related to security incidents.
• Handling confidential security matters with utmost discretion and professionalism.
• Developing and ensuring adherence to security policies and procedures, minimizing crime risks.
• Leading emergency response activities and implementing mitigation strategies for security-related crises.
• Providing security insights for the Business Continuity Plan (BCP) and Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP).
• Preparing quarterly security reports and presenting findings to senior management.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate should possess the following:

• A relevant degree from a recognized institution.
• Certification in Security Management from a recognized training institution.
• Diploma in Security Studies, Security Management, or any related field.
• Certificate in Computer Proficiency.
• A valid Certificate of Good Conduct from the National Police Service.
• Experience in law enforcement, military, or corporate security is an added advantage.
• Must meet the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution of Kenya.
