Note: One-Tier Master’s programs combine bachelor’s and master’s levels into a single course.

Eligibility Criteria

Undergraduate Applicants

• Minimum KCSE Mean Grade: B (plain)
• Core Subject Grade: B in the preferred field of study
• Age Limit: Not more than 25 years
• Education History: Completed secondary education within the last three (3) years
• Required Document: Original KCSE certificate

Postgraduate Applicants

• Master’s Degree Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree with upper second-class honors
  • Age limit: Below 38 years
• PhD Requirements:
  • Relevant Master’s degree
  • Age limit: Below 45 years

Application Procedure

1. Online Registration: Complete your application at apply.stipendiumhungaricum.hu.
2. Document Upload: Upload all required documents to the online portal after registration. Follow the guidelines provided on the portal for submission.
   • Submission Deadline: January 15, 2025 (2 PM Central European Time)
3. Doctoral Candidates:
   • Secure a supervisor at your host university and obtain a statement of acceptance.
   • Visit doktori.hu for doctoral-specific requirements.
4. Ministry Application: Download the standard application form from the Ministry of Education’s website: education.go.ke.
5. Supporting Documents: Attach certified copies of the following:
   • ID card
   • Academic and professional certificates
   • Transcripts
   • Birth certificate
   • Passport
   • Testimonials
   • Study plan or proposal (for PhD applicants)
6. Submission: Submit your completed application and supporting documents to:

Selection Process

• Applications will be reviewed by the Ministry of Education, and shortlisted candidates will be contacted via email or phone (0771842051/0774234422) for an interview.
• Preference will be given to teaching staff in universities and university constituent colleges at the postgraduate level.

Note: Academic certificates from foreign institutions must be recognized by the Commission for University Education (CUE).
