INTRODUCTION
Are you passionate about risk management, compliance, and operational excellence in the retail sector? M-KOPA is looking for a Retail Risk and Compliance Lead to join its Retail team and contribute to digital and financial inclusion across its markets.
In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing audit functions, training initiatives, and compliance processes, ensuring adherence to regulatory and operational standards. The position involves conducting field audits, compliance reviews, and quality assessments, identifying risks, and implementing corrective actions. You will also drive compliance awareness through training programs, ensuring best practices are upheld across the Retail department.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Retail Risk and Compliance Lead, you will be responsible for:
- Overseeing audit functions and compliance processes to ensure adherence to internal and external regulatory requirements.
- Conducting field audits, compliance reviews, and quality assessments across M-KOPA’s retail operations.
- Identifying gaps and risks within the retail systems and proposing corrective actions.
- Developing and implementing training programs to enhance compliance awareness and ensure operational excellence.
- Monitoring resource allocation and process efficiency, ensuring best practices are followed.
- Ensuring that M-KOPA’s operations align with legal, regulatory, and company-specific compliance frameworks.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive compliance culture within the organization.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Required Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Risk Management, Finance, or a related field.
- 3-5 years’ experience in risk management, compliance, auditing, or operations management.
- Strong understanding of compliance frameworks and risk assessment methodologies.
- Experience in budget management, data analysis, and process improvement initiatives.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Familiarity with audit procedures, compliance regulations, and industry best practices.
